Engine setup and Break-in

Here I use two of my personal NIB (New in Box) engines to demostrate the following:  How to setup the engine for the first run, break-in, and final tuning of the engine.  I have one 2 stroke and one 4 stroke engine I have used to create this page.  The first is a nice vintage 1975 OS 40 FSR 2 stroke engine.  The second is a late 80's vintage Saito FA-65 4 stroke.

Tower Pro 46

Here is a NIB engine that I purchased from eBay for $26.  I set it up and run it for the first time in the video below.  I had some difficulty getting it to run initially.  It turns out that the low speed needle was closed too much.  This was either done at the factory or the previous owner was messing with it.  I am certain that this engine had never seen fuel before due to the inside condition and smell of the engine.  Once the low speed was readjusted it the engine had started easily and was tuned quickly..  It should be a great running engine.  I have owned 4 of these engines and in the past was well as several of their sister engines the GMS 40/47 ABC engines.
